Whether you've got the knowledge, tools, time or space to do the things you've always wanted to do, let's learn to think outside the box and come up with new solutions together.
I became "Anne of All Trades" out of necessity. 10 years ago I got my first pet, planted my first seed and picked up my first tool. With no background in farming or making things, I wanted to learn to raise my own food, fix things when they break, and build the things I needed. Today, I travel the country teaching furniture building, permaculture farming, and sustainability techniques I've learned by trying, failing, and repeating. A lot can change in a decade, and your new chapter starts now.

Milk My Feral Cow or Die Trying! 😬
We've all thought it!
I eat zucchini spaghetti all the time!❤
Do you worry about termites when using wood chips/mulch?
L😍VE THIS, ANNE! I have all these and will be using this to start my garden. 👍🏽💕
You are a force of nature my dear. You are on the other side of this season now. I am glad you have made it and I have no doubt that it was hard. But you survived!
This has probably been the most informative video on pruning I've ever seen (though I'm still a novice).
I loved watching the mill. Really cool!
boy thats sure looks like a lot of lazy. better be sure weeds don't find a way in through that cardboard or cross contamination or something.
Do you ever have terminate issues with all that wood in your garden?
If I gardened the way you do my life would be feast to famine. I live in a very hot and humid climate and the pest here could be make into a si-fi movie. I have to grow for fresh eating, freezing and canning. I enjoy having food in the winter months when nothing will grow except for greens that I don't care for.
Much respect
A pig and a donkey are standing out in a farm's field. The pig tells the donkey: "Man, you sure have a crappy life. They take you out in the morning, have you drag carts, turn millstones, pull the plough, and after dark they feed you nothing but hay. Meanwhile I'm just eating, sleeping and rolling around in the mud all day long, I sure am lucky not to be you." The donkey turns towards the pig, leers at him, and replies: "Yeah. The pig that was here last year said the same thing."
Geese are no joke. A wild canadian one attacked me on Goat Island at Niagara Falls...I probably walked near their nest... it immediately ran after me... then continued flying after me (=chasing me) while I ran away as quick as I could... it flew after me (at me!) full speed at the height of about 3ft during the very loud chase.. then another one joined. They can go crazy
There's nothing lazy about you in this video. You look like a powerhouse of energy. A lazy gardener would hire someone to shake compost, throw logs and push a full wheelbarrow.
Some girls like their guys a little hoggish
I'm old. I like putzing. 😁
thank you, a very sweet program...
The triumphant face at the end!❤
Lazy Gardening - Smart Gardening - Efficient Gardening. Either way I like the Less Weeding outcome.
I just found your channel and I love it! I love how vulnerable you are-you’ve brought me to tears on several of your videos including the struggles with your dogs breaking out and peace between neighbors shaken, the incident with your arm but i absolutely love your positivity 🫶. Curious what editing software do you use. I’m hoping to teach myself how to edit my own videos
Thanks for watching! Those are very kind words. 🙌 We use Final Cut Pro.
What a beautiful human being you are Anne! Not only are you helping me to learn about gardening, but you are helping to take away the stigmas about mental health I have had lifelong struggles in this domain, and I really think it is healthy to be able to talk about holistic health, we are all under a lot of stress in the modern world. Thank you for everything that you are doing for us! ❤️
Are you a master gardener?
lol. Make a part two. I actually love chard in soup. I grow runner beans just to see how tall they can get. And for the pretty flower but I feel the same way. It was so gross no matter how I cooked it
I really enjoyed the video! After years of mulching I found it doesn't matter if you put it on a couple of feet thick you're still going to get weeds. Heck I think I would be more worried if they didn't come up lol. I found that a stirrup hoe works pretty fast getting rid of them. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!
Tsk tsk... All that natural organic stuff tied up with polyester thread... Details, young lady, details.... What did Frank & Nancy Sinatra sing...? "... and the I go and spoil it all...." Nonetheless ❤❤❤
Thanks Anne, nice intro. After lots of years of sheet mulching I have a few tips; use refrigerator/ washer/ dryer boxes to cover big areas (although there are staples to remove, but no plastic tape). Don't leave the cardboard out to get wet and then dry out before it is covered. This makes it hydrophobic, i.e. it gets brittle, wrinkled and hard to walk on even after covered. I still get weeds for sure, but I am building soil slowly over very sandy ground. For hugelmounds, use large pieces of wood. If you use little sticks, it creates a mouse, mole, squirrel superhighway underneath. They use the wood like a scaffold to help them eat the roots!
❤❤❤❤thank you for an awesome tour of your homestead. Love all your animals 🎉🎉, have a blessed day
I have so many earwigs, sowbugs and slugs, what do you do to battle them. They eat my strawberries and other plants. The big green Egyptian Egyptian Beatles eat my figs.
So, for smalll #5 apple, peaches and plum trees, that i want to keep short and bushy on 3 sides, should i keep the tops at like 6' and pull/anchor all major limbs to 90 degrees? I just planted them today. They are about 5' tall at present. I planted 3 trees in a triangular pattern on a 4' diameter hole. I filled hole with good compost and half native soil. I want to pull many of the interior limbs down to point horizontally and outward. I want the middle to not get crowded, and have the 3 trees grow outwardl away from each other. Make sense? So can I just keep trimmimg the main trunk while I pull all other branches outward and down?

Swiss chard is delicious! I usually cook it. I picked the baby leaves and put them in my salad.
I made my 48' × 78' garden using this method 5 years ago and it has produced phenomenal fruit and vegetables.
I love that you’ve talked about the benefits of working in the dirt and Mental Health. And that you’re talking about Mental Health and your personal story. Thank you. And I really love your videos. I have been gardening for years and because I am a financially poor gardener, I do this cardboard method a lot. Plus, I always try to do the no till garden.
The 🔑 key to having a healthy marriage is that YOU ARE THE CRAZY ONE. 😜
A good way to control the weeds under your electric fence would be to lay down lengths of corrugated or flat iron.
Name one of the the piggies Peter Porker 🥰
A chip drop was amazing for me.
Idaho garden here learning every day from you picking up cardboards today
I find so many lessons I learn from you and just wanted to say thank you busy building my lazy garden that I have weeded for years !!!
Also, You have a natural-knowing as Temple Grandin has in nature.
You are the Laura-Croft of gardening !!
I love you
this is awesome
Anne, thank you for being vulnerable and speaking your truth. I just found you and I already love you! I am a potter just south of Nashville in the Columbia/Hampshire area. I could not send my daughter your channel fast enough so she can enjoy your videos along with me. We have a tiny raised bed garden but dream of more and working towards it! So thank you for inspiring others! I cheer you on and look forward to more videos from you! 🥰
So glad you’re here ❤️❤️
What about fir/spruce/pine needles for filing up raised beds?
You speak from ky heart ❤️ I have alot of the same learning issues and aspirations lol I'm learning so so so much from you! You go girl! 🎉❤
No intention of getting a donkey but I still loved this! Your channel is wonderful!
just be careful cause i let my pet wolves roam in that area, 😅😅
my hands STAY dirty!! yaya!
Anne can you tell me where you purchased the jumper you are wearing underneath your jacket Please ? What is the label. I love it. I'm new to your channel great content . Thankyou from Australia. ❤
